Wyszowate (German: Wissowatten, Wischewatten, Wischowatten, Polish: Wisowate, Wiszowate, Wyszowate) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Miłki, within Giżycko County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Central Statistical Office (GUS) – TERYT (National Register of Territorial Land Apportionment Journal) )〕 It lies approximately east of Miłki, south-east of Giżycko, and east of the regional capital Olsztyn. ==History== In 1475 the Teutonic Order komtur of Brandenburg Bernard von Balzhofen granted land to noble settlers coming from the Duchy of Masovia in return of their military service. The biggest part (8 włókas 〔A "włóka" is a unit of area. 1 włóka = 17,838 hectares〕) was given to Michał Wysowaty 〔Wojciech Kętrzyński ''O ludności polskiej w Prusiech niegdyś krzyżackich'', Lwów 1882〕 who founded the village of Wyszowate. Until 1945 the area was part of Germany (East Prussia).
